Our livelihood programs combine traditional knowledge with modern practices, enabling
farmers and youth to build thriving enterprises that sustain themselves and their communities.
PRDA has led emergency relief and recovery for Manipur's vulnerable communities,
providing immediate aid and long-term rebuilding support across tribal regions.
Empowering Communities Since 1988
People’s Resource Development Association (PRDA) began humbly in 1988 when local youth responded to the Ithai Dam crisis, offering relief to displaced families. This Bishnupur-based NGO continues serving Manipur’s villages and communities through modest yet meaningful work empowering farmers and youth with skills and opportunities, uplifting women and children through targeted programs, restoring degraded lands, improving health outcomes, and building bridges across communities for lasting peace. PRDA walks alongside villages, believing that small acts of compassion and sustained commitment create enduring community strength.
Our Focus Areas
PRDA tackles climate change through reforestation, sustainable farming, water conservation, and community-led resilience programs, protecting Manipur's ecosystems and rural livelihoods from extreme weather while promoting eco-friendly practices for a greener future.
PRDA empowers women and children through land rights advocacy, self-help groups for livelihoods, education access, child protection against violence, and health awareness programs, fostering economic independence and safety for vulnerable families in Manipur.
PRDA fosters sustainable livelihoods through farmer cooperatives, women's self-help groups, youth skill training, market linkages, and post-disaster recovery support, enabling communities to achieve economic self-reliance and lasting prosperity.
PRDA delivers rapid disaster response with essentials and medical aid, followed by livelihood restoration via seed banks and tools, plus community training for preparedness—transforming crisis into resilient recovery since its 1988 flood origins.
